In the 60s, the Beatles swept from England to the United States and then the world. While Beatles records were released one after another around the world, Capitol in the United States and other European countries also released albums (LPs), singles, and 4-song EP records with their own compilations. There are various jacket designs around the world, and many of them are now popular as valuable collector's items. Even in Japan in the 60s, albums and singles were released one after another with projects unique to Japan. Basically, the album was released according to the British original, but it was released according to the British original without being able to make all the different editorial albums like the American Capitol, although there were original projects such as the well-known Japan debut album "The Beatles!", but the single version was released one after another every month with its own song selection coupling Japan A and B sides, and boasted the largest number of single releases in the world. In August 1964, a four-song EP record was released in Japan as the "Compact 7 Stereo Series", and a total of 12 discs were released with Japan's own song selection and jacket design until May '67. In the UK, there are several EPs with 4 songs, but like the single edition, it was released only with a monaural sound source. As the name suggests, the selling point of the "Compact 7 Stereo Series" is that it is recorded in "stereo", and in the early 60s, single records were only released in monaural in Japan, and in Japan, where all albums were not released in both stereo and mono like in the UK and the United States, there was a situation where some songs were not released in stereo sound sources, so this "Compact 7 Stereo Series" was released with a stereo as a selling point. However, for songs that did not receive a stereo master from the United Kingdom, a "pseudo-stereo" based on monaural was created and recorded as a mandatory measure similar to that of the American Capitol. From "I Want to Hug You" and "She Loves You" to "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Penny Lane", pseudo-stereo sound sources produced by Japan are recorded depending on the song. "I Feel Fine," "Let's Embrace Love," and "Paperback Writer" were once talked about as mixes that could only be heard here. On the other hand, "I'm Down" was recorded in the world's first real stereo mix, while it was only released as a single monaural in the United Kingdom and the United States. For collectors of yesteryear, it was an indispensable presence in stereo sound source collection. For fans of that time, it is a nostalgic item that revives the 60s, but Japan's unique "Compact 7 Stereo Series" has various characteristics in terms of sound source. In the past, two CDs with the same content by "WAX MASTERS" were also released, but this time it was recorded with the latest remastered sound source that has been newly digitally converted, denoised, and balanced in order to faithfully reproduce the original analog. This is the appearance of a new edited collector's item that is indispensable for the research of the Beatles' sound source!
